The Coney Island Pottsville Arcade
Leaderboard privacy
The arcade's games share one leaderboard service. Every game that links to this page uses it, and this is the whole of what it does with your play.
What a score carries
Nothing leaves the game until you choose to put a run on the board. A posted run carries the three initials you typed, the numbers the game reports for that run, such as a score, a time or a level, which game and which version of it sent the run, a random identifier for the run, and the moment it arrived. That is the entire record, and it is public by design.
What it never carries
No names, accounts or e-mail addresses. No cookies, no advertising, no tracking. Your IP address is never written down. Nothing links a run to you beyond the initials you chose.
Keeping the board honest
To slow a flood of submissions, the service derives a temporary key from your connection and holds it in memory for about a minute. It is never stored.
When you post a run, the game asks Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm that a person, not a script, is posting. It usually decides without showing anything; now and then it shows a checkbox to tick. The proof it makes names the run and the game's address, is checked once by the service, and is never stored.
On your device
Settings, your best runs and any run that has not reached the board yet stay in your browser or in the game's own save file, and go when you clear them.
Where it runs
The leaderboards run on Cloudflare, which processes the requests that serve them. All traffic is HTTPS.
Removal
Want a run taken down? Write to [email protected] with the game, the initials and the score, and it will be removed.
